In the early days of rock -n- roll and rockabilly, slap back echo was a fairly popular effect. Tape machines like the Echoplex ran tape loops that gave guitars and vocals a fuller sound. Slap back echo is a time delay effect ; a short echo with a single repeat. Delay time settings are generally between 60ms and 120ms.
