The sine wave is a test signal that is commonly used to test audio equipment. In reality it sounds like a flute. It is like a input signal such as a guitar, bass, drum, synthesizer, or vocal.
Figure 124: The red lines represent the audio range the amplifier can handle without distortion.
Figure 125: The signal between the red lines is the guitar sound of overdrive or in extreme cases distortion.

Turn up the volume after these effects. It will be low, especially on the distortion.
