FX15-Doubler

_______________________________________________

Figure 24 : The doubler effect is applied to the highlighted section of the wave file.

Both doubler and chorus effects are used to simulate the sound of more than one vocalist or instrumentalist from a single source. The doubler effect simulates two signals, and the chorus effect can have multiple voices. The chorus effect is a modulated delay effect, and the doubler effect is not. The doubler effect is preferable when a chorus effect is to pronounce ; some people believe the chorus effect sounds bad on distorted guitar tracks.

Figure 25 : Digilogue BlueDelay control settings for the doubler effect.

The right side has the lowest delay setting possible. The left side generally has a delay setting between 20ms and 60ms (27ms in this example). The original, unaltered, signal should not be audible. The mix controls (figure 25) are set to maximum, making the delayed signals as loud as possible and the volume of the original, unaltered, signal off completely.
