Figure 9 : The chorus effect is applied to the highlighted section of the wave file.
This effect is used to make one instrument or vocalist sound like two or more instrumentalists or vocalists. The chorus effect’s name comes from a chorus of vocalists. It can make a six string guitar sound like a twelve string guitar. This effect is commonly used on guitar tracks without distortion, and sometimes used on bass guitars or vocals.
Figure 10 : Digilogue BlueChorus control settings for the chorus effect. Some chorus effects contain more than one voice (modulated delay lines).
This is a time delay effect that has a slightly longer delay time than a standard flanger. The depth (sweep range) control, in the chorus effect, is often set shorter than most other modulation effects. The delay signal is modulated and added to the original, unaltered, signal. Because the chorus effect is a modulated delay effect, the delay changes over time. For example, the delay could sweep from 6ms to 12ms repeatedly.
