FX6-Tremolo

_______________________________________________

Figure 99 : The tremolo effect is applied to the highlighted section of the wave file. The tremolo effect, shown above, is modulated by a sine wave LFO.

Tremolos are VCAs modulated by LFOs. VCAs (voltage controlled amplifiers) effect the volume of the signal. Some people mistake the vibrato effect for the tremolo effect, probably because the tremolo arm on a guitar can be used to create the vibrato effect. You press the tremolo arm down, the strings loosen, and the pitch of the notes being played is lowered. Tremolo is a volume effect and vibrato is a pitch effect. The only thing they both have in common is that they are both modulation effects.
